Hogwarts Memory Palace

Hogwarts Memory Palace

I started with using the Memory Palace method to remember all kinds of facts from the names of stars and constellations to the various breeds of chicken. But the information was too much for my first Memory Palace (my bedroom), so I started creating my most favorite imaginary place: Hogwarts. Now I can go into the Gryffindor Common Room, into the Astronomy Towers, the Greenhouse etc. and save HUGE amounts of information.

A Very Select Location!

Great to hear that you’ve found the Memory Palace techique useful, M.A. As you found out, your first attempt can sometimes prove to be a bit limited, and you did exactly the right thing: you packed up all your stuff and moved! 🙂

Now you’ve got a brand new place, and one that’s spacious, extensive, and endlessly interesting. You couldn’t have chosen better. And why? Because Hogwarts was already a favourite place for you, so all you had to do was personalise it for yourself, and there’s always the possibility of extending it in the future so the possibilities are endless.

It’s great to keep in mind that the best places you can use for this type of thing are places you know well already (even if they’re imaginary), and places that you find interesting or fascinating. Have fun in Hogwarts, M.A., and write in again sometime and let us know how successful it’s been to move into such a select property!
